What is Piles?
Piles, also called haemorrhoids, are swollen blood vessels inside the back passage or around its opening. They are extremely common and most people have them at some point in their lives.
They usually develop when the veins in that area come under repeated pressure - straining to pass hard stools, long spells of sitting, chronic constipation, heavy lifting or pregnancy.
Mild piles often settle with a high-fibre diet, more water, and ointments or medicines prescribed by a doctor. When the bleeding or the pain keeps returning, or the piles have reached a later grade, they need to be treated properly rather than managed.
At Primitive Health Care the usual treatment is laser haemorrhoidoplasty. A thin laser fibre seals the vessels feeding each pile, so there are no cuts and, in most cases, no stitches. Most patients go home the same day.

Consultation and diagnosis

Admission and preparation
1 to 2 hours- Registration at the hospital on the day of the procedure
